Major television network, NBC, has just ordered a full series for DC's highly anticipated comedy, Powerless. The new show follows an insurance company working in the heart of the DC Comics Universe.

The show stars Vanessa Hudgens (High School Musical) as Emily Locke, an insurance adjuster specializing in helping the average people affected by superhero destruction. To celebrate, DC has shared a first look at the show's pilot.

The pilot features Emily standing up to minor DC hero, Crimson Fox, when a fight interrupts her commute to work. This impressive confrontation makes Locke a "hero" in her own right among her colleagues. Powerless also stars Alan Tudyk (Firefly), Danny Pudi (Community), Christina Kirk (A to Z), and will be written and produced by Ben Queen (A to Z, Cars 2).

Lately, you can't turn on the TV without finding a show involving superheroes and comic book characters. While some range from melodramatic all the way to absurdity, Powerless is aiming straight for comedic hijinks. The Office style comedy meets DC Universe characters? Not a bad place to start.

Powerless is scheduled to join NBC as a 30-minute sitcom, in the 2016-2017 TV season.
