After just two seasons, ABC has cancelled Agent Carter. Since it first arrived, the show has been popular with TV critics, but didn’t receive the viewer ratings to continue the show. It ended its limited run with a 1.4 rating among adults under 50 and 4.3 million total viewers for DVR services. The show slipped in ratings considerably from season one to season two.

Making matters worse, fans are left with a cliffhanger ending.

Though she’ll no longer portray Peggy Carter, lead Hayley Atwell will still be on TV. She has already booked the ABC procedural Conviction.

On top of that, ABC has passed on the Agents of SHIELD spinoff, Marvel’s Most Wanted. The show was set to star SHIELD favorites Adrianne Palicki (Bobbi Morse) and Nick Blood (Lance Hunter) as they continue to protect the world, operating outside of SHIELD.
