Harley Quinn is one of the most popular characters in comics right now. She stars in four titles, has countless collectibles and types of apparel, and will star in the anti-hero team movie Suicide Squad, later this summer.

Margot Robbie won the sweet role of playing the comically crazy Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad. Now, news is circulating that DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. are discussing a Harley spinoff movie. Plot and character details have not been shared yet, but what is known is that it will not be a solo movie, with a single focus on the anti-heroine. And it will be produced by Robbie herself.

The Hollywood Reporter first shared news of the untitled spinoff. Harley will be joined by other female villains and heroines in the DC Universe. Details are closely guarded, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, Batgirl and the Birds of Prey have come up in the conversation. A script is in the works by a female writer.

When Robbie was cast as Harley Quinn she immersed herself in DC comics to learn more about the character. Her love for Harley and other female characters grew, leading her to start developing the project. She started collaborating with a writer then took the project to Warner Bros.

Suicide Squad opens in theaters on August 5, 2016. Along with Robbie, Suicide Squad stars Cara Delevinge, Will Smith, Jared Leto, Viola Davis, Jay Hernandez, Jai Courtney, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
