There were plenty of gasps, cheers, and tears during the Olympics last night as records were set and goals were met. Star Wars got in on the action by dropping the new Rogue One: A Star Wars Story trailer and it looks awesome.

The new trailer goes deeper into the story with Jyn Erso being recruited for the rebellion to find weaknesses of the Death Star. This one also introduces more of the ensemble cast – friend and foe – setting up what will likely be an epic conflict.

Rogue One will hit theaters on December 16, 2016. Gareth Edwards, who helmed 2014’s Godzilla, is directing the film. It was written by Chris Weitz (About A Boy) with story by John Knoll and Gary Whitta. The cast includes Riz Ahmed, Felicity Jones, Genevieve O’Reilly, Ben Mendelsohn, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Donnie Yen, and Forest Whitaker with James Earl Jones, Jimmy Smits, and Warwick Davis.
