It may be hard to believe, but this year Star Wars is celebrating its 40th anniversary. George Lucas’ beloved space opera was introduced to audiences on May 25, 1977, effectively changing the landscape of pop culture.

Today, Star Wars may be the most popular it has ever been. Always centered on the love of the original trilogy, the universe expanded into cartoons, TV specials, comic books, novels, assorted games, and a wave of new films that eat box office records for breakfast. Inspiration from the series has produced myriad toys, collectibles, and figures for all the fans who can’t get enough of the galaxy far, far away.

We have great news for collectors of the franchise. Scoop has exclusively learned that Hake’s Americana & Collectibles is presenting the Star Wars Collection of Russell Branton in upcoming auctions. The inaugural portion of this extensive collection of graded action figures and related toys will be offered in Hake’s November 2017 auction and beyond. Hake’s will close their 50th year in pop culture and Americana auctions by selling about 60 AFA-graded items from this collection, that any Star Wars collector would love to have.

It is the best original trilogy vintage Kenner collection to ever come to auction. Based on their research, Hake’s found that no other Star Wars auction of vintage original trilogy figures and toys matches the scope and rarity of this collection.

All AFA-graded, the collection comprises toys that were created from 1977 to 1986. Individual highlights include some of the rarest Star Wars figures, such as all 3 double telescoping 12-back carded figures and all 16 three-packs that were produced. The Boba Fett rocket-firing prototype, the vinyl cape Jawa figure, Anakin Skywalker prototype Power of the Force figure, and Vlix figure from the Star Wars: Droids cartoon will also be sold over multiple auctions.

The collection features an extensive selection of proof cards, including those with the Revenge of the Jedi title, some for the Power of the Force line and a Max Rebo band proof sheet.

It also includes play sets, foreign issues, 12-inch figures, toy weapons, special offer variants, carrying cases, mailaway figures, iconic vehicles, mini rigs, games, and Micro Collections.

Some are the highest AFA grade known and almost all are graded 80 and above. Some of the most exceptional are the 12-back figures of Leia, Luke, and Darth Vader all in the unheard of grade of AFA-95.

The Star Wars Collection of Russell Branton is truly incredible, offering collectors the opportunity to cultivate great Star Wars collections with some of the rarest figures. Stay tuned to Scoop, hakes.com, as well as on Facebook and Twitter. to learn more about this collection.
