The Virginia Comicon has revealed the cover images for two of its previously announced three previously announced show exclusive variant cover editions for it's two-day edition scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, November 23-24, 2013, at the Old Dominion Building at the Richmond International Raceway, 600 East Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, VA 23222.
Convention guest Rob Liefeld, creator of Youngblood and Deadpool, has supplied a convention exclusive cover for IDW Publishing's Transformers: Dark Cybertron #1, and convention guest SL Gallant has illustrated a convention variant for G.I. Show guest Dan Parent illustrated the previously revealed variant for My Little Pony #12.
Although the convention is less than two months away, show promoter Brett Carreras has hinted that there may yet be additional variants.
Last week the Virginia Comicon announced the addition of Scream Award-winning creator James Kuhoric to the guest roster. Kuhoric, who scored multiple printings with Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, scored with Army of Darkness fans with his Dynamite series, and created both Dead Irons and Legendary Talespinners, is now Vice-President of Avatar Press.
Also on board will be Incredible Hulk artist and Wolverine co-creator Trimpe, Top Cow Productions President Matt Hawkins, G.I. Joe creators Larry Hama, Herb Trimpe and SL Gallant, acclaimed Archie writer-artist Dan Parent, Bloop! writer-artist Steve Conley, Archer lead character designer Sam Ellis, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe artist Pop Mhan, and former CGC President (and current Senior Consignment Director for Heritage Auctions) Steve Borock, and Scoop's own J.C.Vaughn, among others.
Superfan Eddie Newsome, in the form of Wade Wilson, better known as Deadpool, will also be at what looks to be the biggest Virginia Comicon ever. This location has free parking, and it offers overnight RV hookups for $25. Hotels in the area average less than $60.
