Joe Alaskey, famed voice actor known best for his work as Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck sadly passed away on February 3, 2016. Alaskey lost the battle to cancer at the age of 63 while in Green Fields, NY.

Born on April 17, 1952 in Troy, NY Alaskey expressed interest in acting at a young age. When he was only three he would search for people's sunglasses or cigar butts to portray different characters.

After the 1989 death of Mel Blanc, Alaskey took over as one of the actors to handle Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. His great work as Daffy Duck in Cartoon Network's Duck Dodgers rightfully won him an Emmy.

He voiced other Looney Tunes characters such as Tweety Bird, Sylvester the Cat, Plucky Duck as well as Yosemite Sam in the classic film Who Framed Roger Rabbit. His voice work wasn't only limited to Warner Brothers though.

Alaskey also voiced Grandpa Lou Pickles in the Nickelodeon classic the Rugrats, participating in all three films along with the spin-off series All Grown Up

Other roles include Jackie Gleason in the TV movie King of the World and the voice of Richard Nixon in Forrest Gump. Alaskey also voiced Stinkie in both Casper and the 1996 animated spinoff, Spooktacular New Adventures of Casper.

After years supplying iconic voices Alaskey will be dearly missed.

"The one I liked best was when he sounded like Joe Alaskey. He had a long, long list of voices but that's the one I will miss the most," television writer and friend Mark Evainer said.

Alaskey is survived by his brother John, along with his nieces and nephews.
