When Gotham returns on February 29, 2016, after its winter break there will be a new villain on the scene. It was revealed on tvinsider.com that B.D. Wong has joined the FOX show as Hugo Strange and is set to appear in a recurring role as the DC Comics villain.
On Gotham, Strange will be a mad scientist who runs Arkham Asylum. “What [he] is doing in there is indeed very, very bad,” Wong teased. “Imagine the worst thing someone might do. Then multiply that by 10.”
He will certainly stir up some trouble for Oswald Cobblepot who will take up residence at Arkham. “He is never the same from the moment he walks through the door,” Wong said.
Strange is one of Batman’s first recurring villains. He has genius level intelligence and is a master of psychology who gained fame by analyzing Batman from afar.
Wong starred as Dr. George Huang on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and as Father Ray Mukada on Oz. He’s also well known for his role as Dr. Henry Wu in Jurassic Park and Jurassic World.
