Heritage Auctions, the US auction house giant, is opening an office in Chicago, IL. Roberta Kramer will bring her 25 years of art and antiques expertise to the new office as the general manager.

The Chicago office will join New York, Beverly Hills, San Francisco, Palm Beach, Europe and Asia in Heritage’s expansion outside of their Dallas, TX based location. They conduct both public auctions and private sales across more than 40 categories that include fine and decorative art, rare coins and paper money, sports and entertainment memorabilia, historical manuscripts, wine, jewelry, and timepieces.

“Heritage has long held Chicago in high-regard and we've been waiting patiently for the right opportunity, and the right people, to open a physical office there,” said Greg Rohan, President of Heritage Auctions. “Roberta is a top professional with the perfect background experience to run the new Chicago office and lead our expansion in this part of the country.”

Kramer brings a wide range of experience to the table. In 2001 she founded the appraisal and art consultation firm Roberta Kramer & Associates, Inc. and before that she worked for Rosenthal Fine Art, Rita Bucheit, Ltd., Leslie Hindman Auctioneers, and Susanin's Auctions.

“The opportunity to help Heritage grow its operation in Chicago is one I absolutely look forward to,” said Kramer. “I have years of expertise and an extensive network of contacts in a diverse array of specialties — from antique furniture and tribal artifacts to modern sculpture and everything in-between — that I'll be drawing on to make Heritage Chicago a broad success.”

Rudy Aronoff will join Kramer at Heritage Chicago as the Director of Operations for the office.

The new office in Chicago will be a satellite location giving local and visiting specialists the opportunity to reach out to people in the greater Chicago area and nearby states to acquire consignments, conduct private business, and grow the company’s profile in the Midwest.

“It's important to Heritage to be in an area that's accessible and has options for physical growth,” said Rohan. “Chicago provides us that exact opportunity.”
