Marvel Studios’ Inhumans has been officially delayed. Disney made the announcement on the night of Friday, April 22, 2016. A week prior to the announcement Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios president, had said that he anticipated that the movie would not keep the July 12, 2019 release date.

Inhumans was originally announced in October 2014. When Marvel first announced their phase three set of films Inhumans was the last in the lineup, set to premiere after Avengers: Infinity War Part II.

Inhumans is about a royal family of superheroes that are ruled by the silent king Black Bolt. The young members of the family get their powers through ingesting Terrigen Mists – something that has been introduced in Agents of SHIELD.

“Since we made our initial phase three announcement, we added Spider-Man, which was a big joyous coup for us. We added Ant-Man and the Wasp, which was a big fun continuation of that story for us. Walt Disney Company has announced an Indiana Jones film for right around that same time. So I think it will shuffle off the current date that it’s on right now,” Feige told Collider two weeks ago. “How far down it shuffles, I’m not sure yet.”

Despite the delay Feige pointed out that it will definitely happen, but deciding when is the question.
