Actor Jerry Doyle, known for his role as Chief of Security Michael Garibaldi on Babylon 5, passed away. His family confirmed through social media that he died on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, though they did not share the cause. He was 60 years old.
He appeared as Garibaldi for the first time in the movie Babylon 5: The Gathering in 1993. He went on to play the security chief for five seasons of Babylon 5 then played him in the movies Babylon 5: The River of Souls in ’98 and Babylon 5: A Call to Arms in ’99.
His screen acting career began in 1987 on an episode of Moonlighting, he then guest starred on Reasonable Doubts and Homefront. Other TV credits include Renegade, Captain Simian & The Space Monkeys, Sliders, Beverly Hills, 90210, Jag, and NYPD Blue. He was starting work on The Circuit at the time of his death.
After Babylon 5 he turned to radio broadcasting. Doyle hosted The Jerry Doyle Show, his own syndicated talk show, on Talk Radio Network.
