Baltimore Comic-Con, the comics-centric, family friendly con will be held this weekend on September 2-4, 2016. As part of the con at the Baltimore Convention Center, they’ll host the Kids Love Comics Pavilion. The event, which has been running for ten years, hosts kids comics creators, workshops, and chapter book authors.

Kids Cartoonists in attendance include Alexis Frederick-Frost, Mike Maihack, and Jason Horn.

Frederick-Frost is the coauthor and illustrator of the Adventures in Cartooning series of graphic novels and picture books. The combination of “how to” book and adventure story, Adventures in Cartooning was on Booklist’s Top Ten Graphic Novel of 2010. His illustrations have appeared in Nickelodeon Magazine, Adventure Time comic, and others. He’ll offer Ogres Awake, the third book in the Adventures in Cartooning Junior series.

Maihack is a cartoonist, graphic novelist, and father currently working on his fourth book in the Cleopatra in Space series. It follows Cleopatra, the historic figure, who has been sent to the future to help save the galaxy from evil. But, first she has to learn about the future, including algebra, combat training, and alien languages.

Horn is the creator of the web comic Ninjasaur about a wisecracking dinosaur who is also a ninja. He is currently working on the new comic Power Skull about a young prince who gains magical powers from a haunted skull. Horn’s work has appeared in Aw Yeah Comics! and Tori Amos: Comic Book Tattoo.

The Baltimore Convention Center is located at One West Pratt Street in Baltimore, MD, across the street from Geppi’s Entertainment Museum, near tourist friendly Inner Harbor. Tickets can be purchased at baltimorecomiccon.com.
