Terminator fans know the date August 29. In Terminator 2: Judgment Day heroine Sarah Connor shares that Judgment Day, the day that Skynet would become self-aware and practically destroy the world, will occur on August 29, 1997.

To celebrate the anniversary the Terminator franchise announced that T2 will go back to theaters for a 3-D release in 2017 – 20 years after Judgment Day.

In 2015, James Cameron announced that he was working on a 3-D version of the movie for a 2016 release. It’s been pushed back to 2017, according to an official Facebook post.

They did not announce an official release date or in which theaters the movie will appear.
