It's official, Suicide Squad's Margot Robbie is signing a first-look deal with Warner Bros. to develop and produce feature films through her LuckyChap Entertainment banner. The Aussie actress is already setting down roots with two projects lined up, including a Harley Quinn spinoff. Producing and developing alongside Robbie are her LuckyChap colleagues Tom Ackerley, Josey McNamara, and Sophia Kerr.

At only 26 years of age, the Wolf of Wall Street star has quickly taken control of her career, seamlessly wading into the producing world. Currently, Luckychap is in the postproduction phase on their first movie, Terminal – a neo noir thriller. The company is also developing and producing a Tonya Harding biopic called I, Tonya, starring Robbie as the disgraced figure skater. Additionally, Luckychap is developing an adaptation of Matt Ruff's Bad Monkeys for Universal Studios, alongside Bluegrass Films’ Scott Stuber and Dylan Clark.

After starring in Focus and The Legend of Tarzan for the studio, Robbie had developed a strong relationship with the company. No doubt being a key factor in Suicide Squad grossing more than $700 million worldwide didn't hurt either. Along with the spinoff for Harley Quinn, Robbie will executive produce and star in an adaptation of Dean N. Jensen's Queen of the Air.

Earlier this year, the company created the Warner Bros. Emerging Film Directors Workshop – spearheaded by studio president of creative development and worldwide production, Greg Silverman – to increase female voices. The first-look deal further underlines Warner Bros.’ renewed focus on female-driven storytelling.

Next year Warner Bros. is releasing their film following DC's superheroine, Wonder Woman, led by director Patty Jenkins. It is also prepping Ocean's Ocho, the female-centric take on Ocean's 11, with an ensemble of A-list ladies.

LuckyChap is represented by CAA, Management 360 and attorney Jeff Bernstein of Jackoway Tyerman.
