BOOM! Studios announced that Arune Singh has been hired as the Vice President, Marketing. In the newly created position, Singh will report to Filip Sablik, President of Publishing and Marketing. He’ll oversee day to day marketing, communications, social media, plus brand development and new corporate initiatives. Also on the BOOM! marketing team are Marketing Manager Mel Caylo and Social Media Coordinator Stephanie Hocutt.

In 2001 Singh’s career began as a columnist for IGN and then worked as a staff writer for ComicBookResources.com. Singh joined the publishing team at Marvel Entertainment in 2007, where he led the communications team with the introduction of Miles Morales, superhero marriage in Astonishing X-Men, and events in Avengers vs X-Men. He was promoted to Executive Director, TV Communications in 2013 and led the publicity launch of Marvel TV series Agents of SHIELD and Daredevil. In 2015 he worked with Syfy as the Vice President, Publicity before joining BOOM! Studios.

In addition, Kate Henning has been hired as the operations manager. Her career began as brand manager in purchasing at Diamond Comic Distributors. In 2013 Henning started working with IDW as the publisher’s sales and operations manager.

Dafna Pleban has been promoted to editor, talent development. She has been working with BOOM! since 2009, on developing high performing talent.

Alex Galer has become the associate editor. His career with BOOM! began in 2012 serving as the ambassador on titles like Big Trouble in Little China, Bill & Ted, and Power Rangers.

Cameron Chittock has also been promoted to associate editor. He joined BOOM! in 2013 as part of the company’s acquisition of Archaia.

Stephanie Hocutt has become the social media coordinator. Hocutt joined BOOM! in 2013 as a PR assistant then marketing assistant in 2015.

Michelle Ankley has been promoted to production designer. She interned with the company and started working with BOOM! in 2013 in the operations department and then moved to the production team in 2015.

“This was the biggest year for BOOM! Studios in our history. We’re excited to announce the addition and development of key personnel who will all play critical roles in delivering what we believe will be an even bigger 2017,” Sablik said.
