FX's highly anticipated new drama, Legion, is scheduled to premiere Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 10 PM ET. Noah Hawley serves as Executive Producer alongside Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb, Jim Chory, and John Cameron. Hawley and Cameron previously served as executive producers on the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning FX series, Fargo.
Based on the Marvel Comics by Chris Claremont and Bill Sienkiewicz, Legion follows the story of David Heller (Dan Stevens), a young man diagnosed with schizophrenia. After years of bouncing between psychiatric hospitals, Heller is now in his early 30s and finds himself institutionalized once more.
Between medication and sleep, Heller spends most of his time alongside fellow patient and friend Lenny (Aubrey Plaza). Heller's life is completely upended when a beautiful and troubled new patient, Syd (Rachel Keller), arrives at the hospital. Drawn together, the two share a startling encounter, one that leaves Heller questioning if the voices and visions he experiences are real.
Following an escape from the hospital, Heller seeks solace with sister Amy (Katie Aselton). Syd eventually leads Heller to Melanie Bird (Jean Smart), an unorthodox therapist with a sharp mind. Along with her team of specialists – Ptonomy (Jeremie Harris), Kerry (Amber Midthunder) and Cary (Bill Irwin) – she opens Heller's eyes to a world of new possibilities.
Although FXP handles the physical production, Legion is produced in conjunction with FX Productions and Marvel Television.
