Fans are still buzzing over the announcement that several of Rob Liefeld's Extreme characters have been licensed for film. Now, the excitement continues as Liefeld shared that both Brigade and Bloodstrike will be relaunched as comic books. Their early issues from the 1990s are also being collected, some for the very first time.
“I have a new Brigade series ready to go that I've been waiting to launch with Bloodstrike, and then we have an Extreme anthology coming out. I'm not going to flood the market. We'll do selective stories, selective arcs, and then at the end of the year, we'll be collecting the material...We're going to collect the original stories for the first time, as well,” Liefeld told The Hollywood Reporter.
Liefeld has often discussed bringing back both Brigade and Bloodstrike – he ran a Kickstarter for Brigade a few years ago, and previously mentioned in interviews plans for the titles to return.
Under a banner at Image, Liefeld is organizing Brigade, Bloodstrike, Extreme Anthology, and a recolored version of his and Jeph Loeb's Re-Gex.
Recently, Liefeld also announced plans to revive Youngblood, the specifics of which have yet to be shared.
