There were many highlights in 2016’s Deadpool, from the well written script to Ryan Reynolds hilarious antics. One of the standouts was Deadpool’s interactions with nice, if somewhat devious, cab driver Dopinder.

It’s been revealed that Dopinder will join Deadpool, Colossus, and Negasonic Teenage Warhead for the sequel. Screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick confirmed his return during a Facebook Live interview with Nerdist. “I would say that the relationship between Dopinder and Deadpool was the most fun for me.” Wernick said. “I love that relationship and I love that character. And he’ll be in the sequel.”

Dopinder, played by Karan Soni, was a fun highlight in the first movie. He taxied Deadpool on a few of his revenge seeking journeys. He also kidnapped Bandhu, his cousin and romantic rival, putting him in the trunk of his car, based on Deadpool’s encouragement. It’ll be interesting to see where we find Dopinder in the sequel. As well as his love interest, Gita, and cousin Bandhu.

Deadpool 2 is planned for a 2018 release.
