In April, the Man of Steel will debut a new suit, after the “Superman Reborn” event in March. DC gave comicbook.com an exclusive first look at the new costume, which will first appear in Superman #20 and Action Comics #977. He has returned to wearing red boots and the suit is a bit of a lighter shade of blue. He has a full red belt and he is no longer wearing the gauntlet-like ends to his sleeves. The changes are minimal, but they give him a more classic look.

The full costume will premiere on the cover of Superman #20 with art by Patrick Gleason. Then on Action Comics #977, Andy Kubert will provide a look at Superman’s history, including the Neal Adams Superman #233 cover, which opened the “Kryptonite Nevermore” story.

The cover will feature an image of Clark and Lois’ wedding from Superman: The Wedding Album and Jonathan Kent’s birth from Convergence: Superman #2, which likely means that Superman’s marriage and son will still be a part of the character after the “Superman Reborn” story.

DC’s synopsis presentations for the issues promise plenty of excitement and complications for Superman and his family. The solicitation for Superman #20 indicates that Lois and Clark are leaving their country haven of Hamilton for the bustling city life in Metropolis. While Superman faces his foe, Batman and Robin discover a mystery surrounding young Jonathan. Then in Action Comics #977 Superman reflects on his life to determine who tried to destroy it. With all the complications he faces he will need to unite the Superman-Family for help.

It looks like Superman will break in that new suit toot sweet.
