In 2016 Lion Forge created Roar and CubHouse, their teen and young readers imprints, as well as the acquisition of boutique publisher, Magnetic Press. This year they continue to grow and improve their offerings with a diverse slate of books for all types of readers at all ages.
“2017 will be a big year for us, and we are so excited to begin sharing information about some of our launches and acquisitions,” Andrea Colvin, senior editor for the Roar and CubHouse imprints, said. “We’re putting together an amazing lineup of picture books for younger readers and ongoing series and original graphic novels for middle-grade readers and teens that represent diverse perspectives and that all readers will be able to see themselves reflected in.”
On Wednesday, January 18, 2017, Lion Forge announced the second volume of KLAW (Antoine Ozanam and Joël Jurion) as part of the Magnetic Collection at Lion Forge. Following the origin story in volume one, Angel Tomassini travels the world, on the run from the forces that hunt him and the were-tiger spirit he possesses. His life gets even more complicated when he learns about other were-warriors, many of whom want to destroy others like them to become the most powerful beings.
“The KLAW series goes against all genre expectations, blending the supernatural with martial arts, espionage, and complex character dynamics. Antoine’s story is deliciously intricate, and Joel’s art makes it even more exciting to devour,” Mike Kennedy, Director of the Magnetic Collection producing the series, said.
KLAW Volume 2 is the first title out this spring on Lion Forge’s Roar imprint, with more to follow soon. It will be solicited in Diamond Comic Distributors’ March 2017 PREVIEWS catalog.
