Actor Miguel Ferrer died on Thursday, January 19, 2017 after fighting throat cancer according to a statement from CBS. He was 61 years old.

In recent years, he starred in 105 episodes of NCIS: Los Angeles from 2012 to 2017. Before that, he is well known for playing FBI Agent Albert Rosenfield on Twin Peaks – both the TV show in 1990-1991 and films that followed. He also starred in Crossing Jordan from 2001 to 2007.

He was born on February 7, 1955 to singer/actress Rosemary Clooney and actor José Ferrer. His film and TV career began in 1981 with an episode of Magnum, P.I. He was in Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, T.J. HookerRoboCop, Miami Vice, Shannon’s Deal, Point of No Return, The Stand, Tales from the Crypt, The Night Flier, LateLine, Desperate Housewives, voiced in Young Justice, Iron Man 3, and he voiced Slade Wilson-Deathstroke in Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, due out in 2017.

He also co-created the character Comet Man for Marvel with Bill Mumy and Kelley Jones. The character, who had teleportation abilities, made his first appearance in a limited series in 1987.

Ferrer was also part of the comics convention band Seduction of the Innocent with Max Allan Collins, Chris Christensen, Steve Leialoha, and Mumy.
