Legendary Pictures has announced the production date and shooting location for Godzilla: King of the Monsters. The sequel to 2014’s Godzilla reboot, it’ll start filming in Atlanta on June 19, 2017. Atlanta is also serving as the production home for Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War.

The new Godzilla flick will be directed by Michael Dougherty (Krampus) and star Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven of Stranger Things). It is co-written by Dougherty, Max Borenstein (2014 Godzilla), and Zach Shields (Krampus).

Similar to other big budget production series, Legendary is establishing its MonsterVerse – the kaiju-style cinematic universe. It will include the Godzilla series as well as King Kong movies, starting with Kong: Skull Island, which will likely tie into the 2014 Godzilla.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters is scheduled to open in theaters on March 22, 2019.
