Mike Carbonaro’s Big Apple Con is just around the corner! New York City’s long-running comic book convention returns on March 11-12, 2017 located at the Penn Plaza Pavilion on 401 7th Avenue 33rd Street, in New York. Join hundreds of fans for an explosion of comic books, sci-fi, fantasy, horror and cosplay over two incredible days. Browse through tables of toys, posters, videos, original art, t-shirts, and everything in between.

In anticipation of the upcoming convention, Big Apple Con has announced the triumphant return of comic book legend, Stan Lee. His many contributions to pop culture have solidified him as one of the most famous comic book creators in the world. Along with his top artists – including Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, and Don Heck – Stan “The Man” co-created many iconic characters while serving as Editor-in-Chief of Marvel Comics, such as Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Doctor Strange, Hulk, X-Men, Black Panther, the Inhumans, Thor, Iron Man, Avengers, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Black Widow, Hawkeye, SHIELD, and Silver Surfer.

Joining Lee in the star-studded artist alley is Jim Steranko (Captain America), Roy Thomas and Howard Chaykin (Star Wars), Ramona Fradon (Aquaman), Billy Tucci (Shi), Aaron Lopresti (Ms. Marvel), Nancy Silberkleit (Archie Comics), Reilly Brown (Deadpool), Arthur Suydam (Walking Dead), Michael Golden (Doctor Strange), Renee Witterstaetter (Guardians of the Galaxy), Rich Buckler (Deathlok), Mike McKone (Avengers), Soo Lee (Strange Attractors), Jim Simon (ShieldMaster), Dorian (New Warriors), J. Big Apple Con has also teamed up with Hippy Comix to present the Underground Alley, which features the creators of indy/alternative comix. Guests include Frank “Foolbert Sturgeon” Stack (Adventures of Jesus), Mark Bode (Cobalt 60), Mike Diana (Boiled Angel), Fly-O (Punk Magazine), John Orlando (Humans), Chelle Mayer (Peacefulshades), and Dan Fogel (Underground Price & Grading Guide).

On Sunday, enjoy a special screening of Michael Valentine’s Comix: Beyond The Comic Book Pages, an exciting documentary about the world of comic books seen through the eyes of creators, artists, writers, collectors, store owners, independent publishers, and especially the fans. Big Apple Con is also hosting their largest cosplay contest ever this year! Get ready for multiple contests across different genres, professional judges, and over $15,000 in incredible prizes. Participate in special themed group cosplay photoshoots, or bring the little ones to the Kids Costume Showcase.

The con is running Saturday 10 AM to 7 PM and Sunday 10 AM to 5 PM. One-day passes are $30 for Saturday, $25 for Sunday, or $50 for a weekend pass. Children are $10 either day, with those under 5 admitted for free.
