The advertising deadline for The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #47 has been extended to Friday, March 24, 2017.
"We always have a frenzy of last minute calls and emails for Guide ads, but this year many in the northeast were busy dealing with a major snow storm (or what was supposed to be a major snow storm, depending on where they live)," said J.C. Vaughn, Vice-President of Publishing for Gemstone Publishing, "so we're extending the deadline. The response so far has been great."
ABOUT THIS YEAR'S COVER
It's no stretch of the imagination to say that Steranko is one of the most influential comic book artists of all time. Despite a body of panel-to-panel work that is not as extensive in terms of quantity as fans would wish, his ability to push the medium for what it was worth, to challenge the status quo, and to take on those challenges for a reason (not just because he could)... this is someone who you'd expect to find on the cover of The Overstreet Comic Book Guide.
That finally comes to pass with The Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide #47, when Steranko's take on Batman will grace the cover of the Guide. It will be featured in the April 2017 issue of PREVIEWS from Diamond Comic Distributors.
"One of the greatest things about getting a Steranko cover is that it’s been something on Bob Overstreet’s wishlist for many years," said Vaughn. "And if you take a look at the Batman piece he delivered, it was clearly worth the wait."
On the Guide's second cover is ROM, the spaceknight, illustrated by acclaimed Locke & Key artist Gabriel Rodríguez.
"Not only is Gabriel a wonderful artist, but he's also built a solid following with his work on Locke & Key. When I was discussing who we might pair up with cover subject, Chris Ryall at IDW suggested Gabriel and the lightbulbs went off. Brilliant suggestion," he said. "Take a look at the results!"
