BOOM! Studios has just announced their schedule for WonderCon 2017, which is taking place during March 31-April 2, 2017. The annual SoCal show is being held at the Anaheim Convention Center on 800 West Katella Avenue in Anaheim, California. BOOM! will occupy booth #1301, which is the first booth just beyond the main entrance.

During the convention, BOOM! will have limited quantities of several WonderCon exclusive variant cover comics available for purchase at the booth. They include Steven Universe (2017) #1, cover by Missy Peña (Adventure Time); Planet of the Apes/Green Lantern #1, cover by Elsa Charretier (The Unstoppable Wasp); The Power of the Dark Crystal #1, cover by Mike Huddleston (The Strain); WWE: WrestleMania 2017 Special #1, cover by Rahzzah (Totally Awesome Hulk); and Godshaper #1, cover by Jonas Goonface.

They will also have copies of the Over the Garden Wall Vol. 1 limited edition hardcover, featuring a cover by Kevin Jay Stanton (Adventure Time), and BOOM!’s recent publications, The Official Making of Big Trouble in Little China and The Official Art of Big Trouble in Little China, featuring bookplates autographed by director John Carpenter (limited to 100 copies).

BOOM! has additionally produced more of the popular Lumberjanes merit badges, including new badges “Jail Break,” which debuted at Emerald City Comicon, and “If You Got It, Haunt It,” which makes its debut at WonderCon. An enamel pin featuring the Lumberjanes logo, which debuted at Emerald City Comicon, will also be available.

Throughout the weekend, BOOM! Studios will be hosting various comic writers and artists for signings at their booth (#1301). Appearing on March 31 from 1 PM to 1:50 PM is Simon Spurrier (Godshaper); from 3 PM to 3:50 PM is Delilah S. Dawson (Ladycastle); and from 4 PM to 4:50 PM is Ben Acker, Ben Blacker, and Andrew Miller (Death Be Damned).

Then on April 1 from 11 AM to 11:50 AM is Sam Sykes (Brave Chef Brianna); from 1 PM to 1:50 PM is Spurrier; from 2 PM to 2:50 PM is Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly (Joyride); from 5 PM to 5:50 PM is Ryan Parrott (Saban’s Power Rangers: Aftershock); and from 6 PM to 6:50 PM is Dawson.

On April 2 from 11 AM to 11:50 AM is Acker and Miller; from 12 PM to 12:50 PM is Matt Daley and Trevor Crafts (Lantern City); from 1 PM to 1:50 PM is Spurrier; from 2 PM to 2:50 PM is Dawson; and from 4 PM to 4:50 is Sam Sykes (Brave Chef Brianna). Chrystin Garland (Steven Universe and the Crystal Gems) will be available at the booth all weekend selling sketches on blank covers for Steven Universe, Adventure Time, and Over the Garden Wall comics.

In addition to signings and convention exclusives, BOOM! will also be presenting and participating in various panels during WonderCon. Beginning on March 31, the publisher will be hosting “BOOM! Studios: Discover Yours” in room 211 from 2 PM to 3 PM. Filip Sablik (President, Publishing & Marketing, BOOM! Studios) will moderate a discussion between Matt Gagnon (Editor-in-Chief, BOOM! Studios), Spurrier, Dawson, Sykes, Kiwi Smith and Kurt Lustgarten (Misfit City), along with Acker, Blacker, and Miller.

Later on, in room 208 from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM, “Discover Why YA Is The Future Of Comics” with: James Dashner (Maze Runner), Hope Larson (Goldie Vance, Compass South), Dawson, Sykes, Cecil Castellucci (Shade), Smith, Lustgarten and Shannon Watters (Editor, BOOM! Studios; Lumberjanes). Moderated by BOOM! Studios editor, Dafna Pleban.

On April 1, “Discover The Secret To Reinventing Pop Culture” in room 208 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Bryce Carlson (Managing Editor, BOOM! Studios) will lead the conversation between Phil Jimenez (Wonder Woman), Sarah Kuhn (Clueless), Spurrier, Christina Strain (Generation X), Parrott, David Walker (Tarzan on the Planet of the Apes), and Christos Gage (Buffy the Vampire Slayer).

Then in room 211, from 2 PM to 3 PM, “Discover The Music Of Comics” with: Spurrier, Sam Humphries (Jonesy), Jasmine Amiri (Editor, BOOM! Studios), Amy Chu (KISS), and moderator Patrick Reed (Comics Alliance). In room 206B, from 3 PM to 4 PM, BOOM! will participate in a Portfolio Review for aspiring artists. Attendees are encouraged to bring sequential work relating to all-ages content as well as out-of-the-box ideas, cover art, color art, and materials showing off their personal style. No story pitches, please. Shortly thereafter, in room 211 from 5 PM to 6 PM, BOOM! is honoring Spurrier through an in-depth spotlight panel.

Finally, on April 2 in room 210 from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, join Arlene Daley, Matt Daley, Ellen Crafts, Trevor Crafts (Not-So Secret Society) as they discuss “Comics Are For Kids, Too!” This interactive workshop will let children get hands on and make their own comic.
