Planet of the Apes fans rejoice! Following the teaser narrated by Charlton Heston, star of the original Planet of the Apes, another trailer has just been released for Fox’s War for the Planet of the Apes.

This epic final trailer showcases the violent showdown between Caesar (Andy Serkis) and his apes and the humans led by the unrelenting Colonel, played by Woody Harrelson. While the trailer doesn’t offer much else in the way of plot, it’s clear that this bloody war for survival will push both sides to their limits.

“We created them,” the Colonel says, referring to the enhanced apes. “But now, we will bring an end to their kind.”

The third film in Fox’s rebooted franchise follows the deadly conflict Caesar and his apes have been forced into by the ruthless Colonel. After suffering unimaginable losses, Caesar leans into his darker instincts and makes the war a personal matter. Face to face, Caesar and the Colonel are locked in an intense battle. One that will determine not only the fate of both their species, but the future of the planet.

War for the Planet of the Apes, directed and co-written by Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), stars Andy Serkis, Woody Harrelson, Steve Zahn, Amiah Miller, Karin Konoval, Judy Greer, and Terry Notary.

The film will premiere on July 14, 2017.
