It’s official, Power Rangers’ Ludi Lin will be joining the cast of the upcoming DC Films project, Aquaman. According to Deadline, Lin will be portraying Murk, alongside Jason Momoa’s Aquaman. Murk is the intense leader of Atlantis’ army, Men-at-War. Although Murk has occasionally shown loyalty toward Aquaman, he has also supported Aquaman’s brother Orm, the scheming Ocean Master.
Recently, Lin portrayed the Black Ranger in Dean Israelite’s Power Rangers reboot. His casting as Murk marks the second major role for Lin, who got his start as Batbayer on the Netflix period drama Marco Polo.
The plot of Aquaman has remained somewhat of a mystery, with Momoa’s character yet to even fully debut on screen. He has however been featured in trailers and briefly in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Aquaman’s full cinematic debut will arrive with Justice League later this year.
Aquaman is produced by DC Films and directed by James Wan. Lin joins stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Dolph Lundgren as King Nereus, Patrick Wilson as Ocean Master, and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna.
The film is arriving in theaters on December 21, 2018.
