DC Entertainment (DCE) has just announced the first-ever celebration for DC Comic’s pop culture icon, Wonder Woman. “Wonder Woman Day” is taking place on June 3, 2017, during the opening weekend of the anxiously awaited film - Wonder Woman. This celebration will honor the Amazonian Princess’ 75-year legacy with festivities all around the world.

Over 2,000 comic retailers, bookstores, libraries and various other partners will host “Wonder Woman Day” activities, including distributing free copies of two special edition issues. Wonder Woman Day Special Edition #1 is a reprint of Wonder Woman #1 by bestselling writer Greg Rucka and artist Liam Sharp. While younger readers can enjoy, DC Super Hero Girls Wonder Woman Day Special Edition #1. This issue features a chapter from the upcoming DC Super Hero Girls Vol. 3: Summer Olympus, written by Shea Fontana with illustrations by Yancey Labat.

DC has teamed up with Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Walmart, Costco, and Amazon for exclusive in-store and digital promotions to enhance the “Wonder Woman Day” experience. Cross-divisional activations will also include Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, in addition to Six Flags Theme Parks, to further spotlight the iconic DC superheroine. Talented writers and artists will also participate in special events, including Greg Rucka, Phil Jimenez, Cliff Chiang, Shea Fontana, Marc Andreyko, and Cat Staggs. Exclusive Wonder Woman tiaras and bracelets will also be available at select retailers.

Leading up to “Wonder Woman Day,” DC’s award-winning original digital series DC All Access will host a series of Wonder Woman Week segments from May 29 to June 3. This six-day takeover will spotlight essential books, key talent from the Wonder Woman film, and discussions on the character’s legacy with acclaimed comic writers and artists. Fans can also download the “Wonder Woman Day” activity kit, which features comic book activity sheets, coloring pages, trivia, and games. Readers can enjoy great discounts on digital comics at readdcentertainment.com and on the DC Comics app, where digital comics and eBooks will be on sale starting May 30.
