The Walking Dead has produced some truly notable characters from brave, flawed heroes to truly nefarious villains. For better or worse, one of the most charismatic characters to appear in the comic is Negan.

Introduced in The Walking Dead #100, Negan has made his mark as a volatile, calculating, though also unpredictable and quite funny, villain. Now, fans of the bat-wielding lunatic can learn more about his backstory.

Writer-creator Robert Kirkman and artist Charlie Adlard have created a miniseries within their z-poc world in The Walking Dead: Here’s Negan. The special was first serialized in Image+ magazine and will be collected in a hardcover edition, out in October. It’ll be available through Image Comics/Skybound Entertainment.
