Since 2015, Netflix has slowly been introducing fans to staple characters of the Marvel Universe, beginning with Daredevil, followed by Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and more recently Iron Fist. These separate series were all part of a grand plan, conceived back in 2013, to unite The Defenders. Now, the first official poster from the series has been unveiled!

Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox) has gotten used to working solo in Hell’s Kitchen, but the arrival of a new threat forces a team-up with Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Danny Rand/Iron Fist (Finn Jones). In order to save New York City, these four solitary heroes will have to push aside their own personal challenges. Who knows, this foursome might just realize they are stronger together.

Additional cast includes Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Carrie-Anne Moss (Jeri Hogarth), Rachael Taylor (Trish Walker), Elodie Yung (Elektra), Scott Glenn (Stick), Eka Darville (Malcolm Ducasse), Simone Missick (Misty Knight), Jessica Henwick (Colleen Wing), and Sigourney Weaver (Alexandra).

The Defenders is executive produced by Marco Ramirez and Doug Petrie along with Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb. The series, produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix, will be arriving on Netflix on August 18, 2017.
