Another villainous character has been confirmed for Marvel’s Black Panther. Actress-singer, Nabiyah Be has unveiled that her small role in the highly anticipated film is Tilda Johnson, a/k/a Nightshade.

From the Twitter image she shared, Be’s role looks relatively minor as a member of Erik Killmonger’s (Michael B. Jordan) crew. Nightshade debuted in Steve Englehart and Alan Weiss’ Captain America #164 back in 1973. This villainous character got her transforming convicts into an army of werewolves. Given her specialties in biology, chemistry, and robotics, the addition of Nightshade could mark an exciting turn for Black Panther.

This marks the third confirmed comic book villain to appear in T’Challa’s first solo film, following Killmonger and M’Baku (Winston Duke). Clearly Marvel is digging deep to include as many Easter eggs and nods to classic continuity as possible.

Black Panther stars Chadwick Boseman as T’Challa, with Jordan, Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Andy Serkis, Letitia Wright, Florence Kasumba, Sterling K. Brown, and John Kani.

The film is set to debut on February 16, 2018.
