Summer Games Done Quick has wrapped its 2017 speedrunning marathon, raising more than $1.7 million for Medecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders. This marked a record amount raised for the summer edition of Games Done Quick, which also holds an event every January. Last year’s SGDQ raised about $1.3 million for the charity.

Speedrunning a video game is the act of completing a game as fast as humanly possible. Most games are divided into categories for speedrunning such as “Any %” or “100%” runs. Fan favorite games such as EarthBound, Super Mario 64, and Super Metroid were highlighted as well as new releases such as NieR: Automata and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Replays of the runs can be found at the GDQ YouTube channel.
