During Comic-Con’s preview night, the annual convention revealed exciting news for fans of The Walking Dead. Through an epic Rick Grimes vs. Negan face-off graphic, AMC officially announced that The Walking Dead will return for its eighth season and 100th episode on October 22, 2017. In addition to the premiere date, the network also released key art for both the zombie apocalypse blockbuster and its spinoff, Fear The Walking Dead.
Unlike previous years, The Walking Dead cast is flying in and out of Comic-Con rather quickly. Thankfully, Robert Kirkman executive producer of both shows, will be holding panels in Hall H on July 21.
The Walking Dead panel will feature stars Andrew Lincoln, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Lennie James, Seth Gilliam, Alanna Masterson, Khary Payton, and Chandler Riggs. They will be joined by executive producers Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero, and David Alpert as well as showrunner Scott Gimple and creator Kirkman.
Meanwhile, Hurd, Alpert, Nicotero, and Kirkman are all confirmed for the Fear panel. Departing showrunner David Erickson will join them, along with Kim Dickens, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Colman Domingo, Mercedes Mason, Sam Underwood, Daniel Sharman, and Michael Greyeyes.
