Marvel Studios kicked off Comic-Con in a huge way. During preview night, Marvel’s Inhumans unveiled a giant statue of the Royal Family’s teleporting dog-like companion, Lockjaw. The fan-favorite will remain at Marvel booth 2329 throughout the four-day convention.

Since the premiere of Agents of SHIELD back in 2013, Marvel has slowly been expanding its Cinematic Universe into television. The launch of the Inhumans miniseries is the latest in a long line of projects from the company. On September 1, 2017, a two-part pilot for Inhumans will debut in IMAX theaters, with extended versions making their ABC television debut on September 26.

Lockjaw is a key member of the Royal Family and an ally to the King of Attilan, Black Bolt (Anson Mount). Following a coup, led by his brother Maximus (Iwan Rheon), Bolt is forced to flee to Hawaii. Additional members of the Royal Family to be featured are Medusa (Serinda Swan), Gorgon (Eme Ikwuakor), Crystal (Isabelle Cornish), Karnak (Ken Leung), and Triton (Mike Moh).

The massive statue isn’t the only promotional plug Marvel and ABC have planned for Comic-Con. On July 20, Marvel hosted an Inhumans panel, offering attendees the chance to learn more about the upcoming series.
