Phil Coulson and the rest of the team are returning to ABC earlier than anticipated. Prior this year, ABC announced that Agents of SHIELD wouldn’t be a part of the network’s fall schedule. Rather, Marvel’s Inhumans and Once Upon a Time would air on Friday nights for Inhumans eight-episode run.

It appeared that fans would have to wait until January for the return of SHIELD. Well, not anymore! “It’s going to come on right after Inhumans. As soon as the eight episodes of Inhumans is done, then SHIELD. will begin,” ABC Chief Channing Dungey shared during the Television Critics Association’s press tour. Dungey added that SHIELD’s 22-episode season will air mostly uninterrupted.

On September 1, 2017, Marvel’s Inhumans will debut in IMAX, before premiering on ABC on September 29 at 8 PM ET.
