On October 5-8, 2017 renowned artist Greg Hildebrandt is heading to New York Comic Con (NYCC) with a gallery display and live painting demonstration. Although he has previously attended NYCC for guest signings, this will be his first official professional appearance. Hildebrandt will be exhibiting select pieces of original art across his over 57-year career, along with offering multiple products for sale via the SpiderwebArt Gallery, co-owned by Hildebrandt and his wife, Jean Scrocco.

Hildebrandt is best known for his work with his brother on the 1977 Star Wars: A New Hope painted movie poster, and the 1970s Ballantine Books Lord of the Rings Calendars. The Hildebrandt brothers have also worked together on the 1990s Marvel Masterprints, a fully painted DC Superman graphic novel written by Walt Simonson, a serial publication of a new Terry and the Pirates series, Magic: The Gathering trading cards, World of Warcraft trading cards, and Harry Potter trading cards.

At 78, Hildebrandt continues to paint variant covers for Marvel titles like Deadpool vs. Thanos, Deadpool vs. Punisher, Daredevil vs. Kingpin, Old Man Logan, Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor, Black Panther, X-Men, and Star Wars. He has also been working on a series of over 100 vintage themed pinup paintings titled, American Beauties.

Throughout the four-day show, attendees can visit Hildebrandt for signings, view his art and purchase products at his booth 345. As an NYCC exclusive, SpiderwebArt will be accepting preorders and offering four free limited edition Star Wars prints for most retail purchases over $300. A separate offer will be running for the original limited edition Star Wars: A New Hope movie posters currently stocked at the gallery, featuring a hand-drawn sketch of Darth Vader. Hildebrandt will also be drawing a second sketch of Chewbacca for all poster preorders.
