The second season of Stranger Things hasn’t aired yet, but with the overwhelming success of the first season and anticipation for its return, the show has already been renewed for a third season. In a new interview, the Duffer Brothers announced that the third season has been greenlit.

They also shared that they plan to finish the show with season four.

“We’re thinking it will be a four-season thing and then out,” Ross Duffer told Vulture.

The brothers didn’t go into much detail, considering fans haven’t seen season two yet, but there were suggestions that the setting in Hawkins and elements of the Upside Down could change. “I don’t know if we can justify something bad happening to them once a year,” Duffer added.

He also mentioned that at some point the kids could leave the town. While there are some things still up in the air, at least fans know that season three is a definite.

Season two of Stranger Things will premiere on Netflix on Friday, October 27, 2017.
