“New York Comic Con is our hometown show and it’s always a blast. The Javits Center was drenched in thrills and we were swamped with collectors picking up rarities and making deals,” said Vincent Zurzolo, co-owner of Metropolis and ComicConnect.

Metropolis reports selling a copy of Incredible Hulk #1 CGC 5.5 for $22,000 and the Edgar Church copies of Masked Marvel #1 CGC 9.4 and Victory Comics #2 sold for over $10,000 and $8,000, respectively. Silver Age keys Journey into Mystery #83 CBCS 5.0 for $5,150 and Tales of Suspense #39 CGC 4.0 for $4,850 were also picked up at the show.

“It was great! We went out there with a plan, gave it 110% and came home with a W. I can’t wait till next year!” added Metropolis Sales Executive Brandon Peck.

ComicConnect was there to promote Event Auction XXXIII and the Hidden Valley Collection Action Comics #1 CGC 8.0 C, the one-of-a-kind Action Comics #1 silver print, and the incredibly rare set of Siegel and Shuster Science Fiction Fanzines.

“We also have a huge Walking Dead Auction in December so we had several examples of original comic art from the series and a number of highest graded copies of the award-winning comic for interested bidders,” shared Rob Reynolds, Director of Consignments.

Event Auction XXXIII begins November 13, 2017 at 12 PM ET.
