Over the last year Basement Comics has been doing mini interviews with comic dealers at major conventions across the country. Al Stoltz of Basement Comics started a YouTube channel and now has two dozen videos available for viewing.
The mini interviews are usually four minutes or less with dealers that make a living setting up on the convention circuit, buying and selling comic books. While attending major and smaller shows for the rest of 2017 and being back on the road again in 2018, Stoltz will try to film a wide variety of both larger and smaller dealers, according to Basement Comics. Those interviewed can promote their companies, along with promoting comic collecting within the industry.
“I have always felt that comic dealers were becoming marginalized as far as reporting about shows and their importance as far as actually building the major shows like [San Diego Comic-Con] and get little attention,” Stoltz said. “It’s time for some of these great dealers to be recognized and get a little attention they deserve.”
