In January 2018, IDW Publishing will be releasing the fourth and concluding issue of Steve Niles and the late Bernie Wrightson’s Frankenstein, Alive, Alive. Along with exploring the further adventures of Mary Shelley’s original story, this issue will mark the final chapter of Wrightson’s Frankenstein works.

“Bernie was more than a brilliant artist and collaborator to me, he was a dear friend. I am so happy to see this final issue finished by Kelley [Jones], an artist whose work Bernie greatly respected,” shared Niles.

Prior to his passing, the legendary artist had completed several pages and laid out the entire fourth issue. Acclaimed artist Kelley Jones, a lifelong Wrightson fan, agreed to step in and work from the layouts to finish the project.

When Bernie realized he wouldn’t be able to complete the series we began discussing his options, and his first choice was to have Kelley jump in. Bernie felt that Kelley’s style would mesh with his own seamlessly, and it was important to him that the arc be finished and that all four issues form a visually coherent whole. Hed have been so gratified to see this issue published at last,” expressed Liz Wrightson.

Finishing Bernie’s work is like having a last, wonderful conversation with him. Thank God it will be about Frankenstein, something we both love so much,” added Jones.

In addition to delivering fans the highly anticipating ending to this acclaimed series, IDW will also be offering a way to help readers get caught up. The Frankenstein, Alive, Alive Trio, will collect the first three issues in an affordable format two weeks prior to the release of issue four.
