Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has found their teenage witch in AMC’s Mad Men alum Kiernan Shipka. Based on the Archie comic of the same name, Sabrina Spellman is described as “an employed young woman, half-human, half-witch.” This new series will follow Sabrina as a sophomore attending Baxter High School.

“We’re all such huge fans of Kiernan’s work that when we started talking about who this new incarnation of Sabrina could be, her name was on everyone’s wish list,” Archie COO and Riverdale showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said in a press release. “This is a darker, more macabre version of Sabrina, and we’re incredibly excited for people to see Kiernan make this iconic character her own.”

Netflix’s The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is scheduled to have a 20-episode first season, with each episode running for about an hour. No release date has been announced as of yet.
