Ahead of the 2018 Toy Fair, which is taking place in New York City on February 17-20, 2018, Hasbro has unveiled their first augmented reality (AR) toy the Marvel Avengers: Infinity War Hero Vision. Using your phone, and a real life mask, this Hero Vision toy allows you to suit up as Iron Man and battle the villainous Thanos.

The mask, gauntlet, and AR markers retail for $50 and pair with a free app activated by scanning an Infinity Stone token – which players must place on the gauntlet with the AR markers. Hasbro announced that they will be releasing a series of Infinity Stone tokens that will be compatible with this Iron Man-themed set.

“We can combine a digital narrative together with the exchange of physical tokens,” shared Sergio Paolantonio, the director of Hasbro’s augmented reality division, noting that players will also be able to play together using the same AR markers.

This app will work will older phones, including both iPhone and Android, however Hasbro cautioned against using the plus-sized version of either phone as they might not fit inside the mask. The app doesn’t use Apple’s ARKit technology, nor is the internet needed to create the experience.

Marvel Avengers: Infinity War Hero Vision is scheduled to go on sale this spring.
