Unbeatable Squirrel Girl artist Erica Henderson has announced that she will be leaving the series after three years on the book. Henderson has drawn the series since January 2015 and discussed on Twitter that she will be leaving to focus on a creator-owned project instead.

“Hey guys. It’s officially official. The issue of Squirrel Girl I’m drawing right now is my last. Writing this now to get ahead of the rumor mill,” she Tweeted. “FAQ: 1. I left of my own accord to pursue creator owned work. 2. The book is not over. 3. I’ll still be doing covers.”

Henderson is solicited through Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #32, which arrives in May. Marvel has not yet announced who will be replacing her as the artist on the book.

“It’s been a great three years but three years is a long time and I’d like to be able to branch out at this point,” Henderson said. “I’ll miss my amazing team and I’ll miss being able to play in that Marvel sandbox but the future awaits!”
