While the Resistance is likely rebuilding after their devastating encounter with the First Order, the Star Wars universe is taking us back in time for the standalone film, Solo: A Star Wars Story. With the premiere date inching closer, Star Wars has dropped a new trailer that expands on the plot details and gives a bit more dialogue to the cast.

First of all, it’s clear throughout the trailer that the worlds and their style match Han Solo’s own attitude toward the galaxy. Han is eager to join a crew as driver and pilot, and while he has to prove himself, he’s also issued the warning that once in this type of life, there’s no turning back. Putting a fine point on the sentiment, his new boss warns, “Assume everyone will betray you and you will never be disappointed.”

But, the trailer isn’t all serious. We see what are likely his introductions to Lando Calrissian and the Millennium Falcon and a quick shot of Chewbacca interacting with another Wookie. In a nice nod to the main Star Wars series Han says, “I’ve got a really good feeling about this,” providing some humor and punch.

Solo: A Star Wars Story, will be out in theaters on May 25, 2018. The second standalone film in the Star Wars series was directed by Ron Howard, based on a script by Jon and Lawrence Kasdan. Alden Ehrenreich is starring as Han Solo, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, and Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca. They are joined by Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Woody Harrelson, and Paul Bettany.
