That’s right, Bill and Ted are back.
Bill & Ted Face the Music, the third installment in the most excellent Bill & Ted film series, has been officially greenlit. Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter will reunite onscreen after 27 years to reprise their popular characters Ted “Theodore” Logan (Reeves) and Bill S. Preston Esq. (Winter).
In Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, the dimwitted, big-hearted valley dudes were time traveling teenagers trying to pass history class and win the battle of the bands. It was also prophesized that the teenage rockers would save the universe and now they are middle aged men with families and responsibilities, yet to full that destiny. They’ve written lots of songs but haven’t cracked the greatest song of all time.
As the fabric of time and space tears, a visitor from the future cautions that only their song can save all life. Seeking inspiration, they start traveling through time to set things right and bring harmony to the universe. This time they are joined by a new slew of historical figures, music legends, and their daughters.
Series creators Chris Matheson (Imagine That) and Ed Solomon (Men in Black) have written the script and Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest) is set to direct.
Together Reeves and Winter stated, “We couldn’t be more excited to get the whole band back together again. Chris and Ed wrote an amazing script, and with Dean at the helm we’ve got a dream team!”
