In its third weekend in theaters, Avengers: Infinity War continues to dominate the box office. The latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has grossed $1.606 billion, surpassing 2012’s The Avengers at $1.519 billion to earn the title of fifth highest grossing global film of all time.
The top four consists of Avatar at $2.788 billion, followed by Titanic at $2.187 billion, Star Wars: The Force Awakens with $2.068 billion, and Jurassic World at $1.671 billion.
Beating out the first Avengers film, Infinity War is also now the highest grossing superhero film, globally. Marvel’s Black Panther continues to the hold the domestic superhero title with $696 million.
Disney and Marvel’s superhero blockbuster added $61.8 million from North American theaters bringing its total domestic earnings to $547.8 million. Globally the film has now grossed over $1.6 billion, $200 million of which was from its massive opening in China this weekend. Currently, the film has grossed $84.6 million in Korea, $82.1 million in the United Kingdom, $55.6 million in Brazil, and $54.8 million in Mexico.
