As revealed during an interview on the podcast James Bonding, DC’s Community Manager Dani Snow announced the launch of the DC Universe streaming service in late August 2018.

“We are about to launch, I think, late August, our DC digital platform, which will be a hub for all things DC. Right now, we’re working on getting everything from the back catalog of animated TV shows and movies on there now, but we will also be producing. I think, right now, we have four in production, original shows, including Swamp Thing,” said Snow.

Currently, DC Universe has announced four live-action shows: Swamp Thing, Titans, Doom Patrol, and Metropolis. As well as the animated series Young Justice: Outsiders and Harley Quinn. According to Snow, the streaming service will feature more than just video content.

“There will be digital movies, TV shows that you can watch, streaming. We’re going to have a lot of comics on there. There’s going to be a lot of good stuff on there,” added Snow. It remains to be seen if the comics referenced will be offered with DC Universe, or whether it will be new or reprinted content.
