In June 1993 Malibu Comics launched the Ultraverse – a well-conceived comic universe that combined new and experienced creators with innovative marketing. During Comic-Con, the imprint will be discussed at length in the panel “Ultraverse: 25th Anniversary Celebration.”

The Ultraverse contained comics, live-action short, a TV series, animated series, video games, and action figures. But then it was suddenly gone. What happened and why do fans still love it? These questions will be on the table for Ultraverse founders Tom Mason, Chris Ulm, and Dave Olbrich, as well as artists Aaron Lopresti (Sludge), Barb Kaalberg (Solitaire), Rick Hoberg (The Strangers), and Terry Dodson (Mantra), BOOM! Studios founder Ross Richie (also an Ultraverse veteran) and Ultraverse fan Robert McGinty, with moderator J.C. Vaughn (Gemstone Vice-President of Publishing). There will also be surprise panelists for the event.

The panel will be held on Friday, July 20, 2018 from 6:30 PM to 7:30 PM in room 24ABC. Details can be found on the Comic-Con website.
