Iron Fist, the former protector of K’un-Lun and current resident of New York City, is ready to focus his chi and take on more dishonorable criminals. During the Iron Fist panel at Comic-Con, Marvel Television released the synopsis along with the first trailer for Iron Fist season two.

Iron Fist is trying to keep New York City safe during Daredevil’s absence, while still dealing with his own transformation as a hero and man of two cultures. When Defenders ended, Danny promised Matt Murdock that he’d protect the city. But, according to the synopsis, a significant plot twist will threaten his identity as he tries to beat the villains and protect his friends and the city.

Daredevil was seemingly killed during the conclusion of The Defenders’ first season, but a post-credits scene revealed that he was in fact healing from his injuries, though it’s not determined where. It seems that in season two of Iron Fist, the hero with the golden hand will broaden the scope of his protective goals.

Iron Fist season two will drop on Netflix on September 7. Finn Jones, Jessica Henwick, Jessica Stroup, Tom Pelphrey, and Sacha Dhawan are returning, adding in Luke Cage actress Simone Missick and introducing Alice Eve.
