Quantcast

Following the success of the Kickstarter funded Destiny NY, Clonsters, Modern Dread, Prison Witch, and Afterglow, Pat Shand and Space Between Entertainment are back on Kickstarter with a new project. A spinoff from Destiny NY, the graphic novel Gangster Ass Barista follows Trinity through a coffee-fueled crime thriller.

“Trinity used to live a life of crime, but now she makes ends meet by working as a barista in New York City. The thing is, in New York City, making ends meet isn’t easy to do with a minimum wage job. Not to mention the fact that customers are beginning to get on Trinity’s nerves, and it’s becoming harder and harder to keep it together. And now, Trinity’s past is calling and she finds out firsthand that just when she thought she was out... they pull her back in,” reads the official synopsis.

The 70-page graphic novel reunites writer Shand with illustrator Renzo Rodriguez (Breathless) on this comedic thriller, alongside seasoned letterer Jim Campbell. Space Between Entertainment is offering three editions of Gangster Ass Barista: a standard cover by Renzo, a Kickstarter-exclusive edition by Destiny, NY’s upcoming series artist Elisa Romboli and a limited Bootlegger edition by The Tommy Gun Dolls’ Daniel Cooney.

Reward tiers go up to $300 and include the the graphic novel itself, original artwork from the book, custom artwork commissions, the chance to get drawn into the book, enamel pins, coffee coasters, signed bookplates, the stretch goal variant by White Ash artist Conor Hughes, and more.

The Kickstarter ends September 21, 2018 at 8 PM ET.
